The Brief

The pool deck faced full sun exposure for most of the day. The client needed shaded seating that would hold its appearance under sustained UV load without compromising on guest comfort — produced to dimensions specific to the deck layout rather than adapted from a standard range.

Two requirements sat above everything else: premium materials with genuine UV resistance, and real outdoor comfort rather than furniture that merely looks comfortable.

Engineered for Gulf Conditions

Dubai pool decks are a demanding environment for outdoor furniture. Sustained UV, high ambient temperatures and daily thermal movement will find any weakness in a specification.

Matte white powder coating holds colour under prolonged UV exposure and does not carry heat the way darker finishes do on an open deck.

Grade A teak for the slatted back panels. Teak’s natural oil content is what makes it the long-standing benchmark for outdoor hardwood in this region — it weathers rather than degrades.

Sunbrella fabric on canopies and cushion covers, for UV stability and colour retention. On a pool deck, fabric is almost always the first component to show its age. Specifying correctly at the outset determines whether furniture still looks like a five-star asset in year three.

QDF quick-dry foam in the mattresses, cushions and pillows. This is the detail guests notice and specifiers often overlook — poolside seating gets wet, and standard foam holds water, stays cold and eventually breeds mould. Quick-dry foam drains and recovers, so seating is usable again shortly after use rather than hours later.
